Tom Cassidy - Principal & Chief Executive Officer
Tom studied Physics at Oxford and has worked at the intersection of entrepreneurship and education since 1990.
He started the first ever business school for 14+ students in Hong Kong in 2003 and is an internationally published author, with books on problem-solving translated into 6 languages.
Tom's framework for continuous development, THE CASSIDY METHOD was published by the TES in 2012 and has been since downloaded by over 20,000 schools worldwide.
Tom's personal online learning programmes on the UDEMY platform have over 200,000 student enrolments, all using THE CASSIDY METHOD and he is privileged to be bringing his system to the Cambridge Leadership College.
Andrea Joyce - Vice Principal & Chief Operations Officer
Andrea wasn’t your average 17 year old, she had her first book published before she left school which was about WW2 codebreakers. At age 19 she was running the contracts department in a global oil company and at 21 she was working in economic development gaining a unique insight into the Cambridge phenomenon.
Educated in Communications, Culture and Media, to Masters level, Andrea has been working in education for over 10 years.
Her combined knowledge and experience of post-16 education, global business and the economic landscape of Cambridge make her a huge asset to the Cambridge Leadership College team. In addition she has worked alongside Tom for the last year to assist in the implementation of The Cassidy Method at Ci6.
Andrea has significant experience in the day to day running of a college including safeguarding, university and colleges admissions processes, co-ordination of examinations, curriculum development, mental health education, health & safety, and resource management.
With exceptional skills at relationship building Andrea is an educator, facilitator, speaker, and mentor. She is very excited to be joining the Cambridge Leadership College team and will be using all of her knowledge, experience and contacts to benefit the students.
Nick Lightbody - Bursar & Managing Director
Nick has responsibility for the commercial, legal, financial and compliance aspects of the project in order to provide the facilities required for our planned activities on a sustainable basis.
After a scholarship to Gordonstoun, a degree from Sussex University and a short career in professional yachting - he qualified as a solicitor and practised in the City of London before starting his own firm.
Working out how to practice law efficiently using the technology of the 1990s led him towards expertise in voice recognition and management information systems.
Since then he has developed and sold business management systems for lawyers and other professionals, pursued a Patent Application, obtained Trade Marks in the EU and USA and learned a great deal about how US Attorneys run their practices.
Francisco Bustos - Director of Academic Pathways
Francisco has been involved in international education since 1982 when he arrived in England aged 16, on his own. Having spent most of his formative years between Manchester and London, Francisco read English and German at Ealing College of Higher Education and then trained as a Modern Foreign Languages teacher at Manchester University.
Francisco brings to the College many years of experience working in international organisations and using international education as a platform that create opportunities for future generations.
Francisco lived in Colombia and Chile, working for the British Council. Returning to settle in the UK in 1997, he has worked and collaborated with many prestigious international schools in Oxford, Cambridge, Canterbury, Manchester and London. His role has taken him on frequent visits to the Baltics, Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe, as well as all over Russia, Kazakhstan, Angola and Nigeria.
Having helped many students to achieve their academic goals and university objectives, he is uniquely placed to offer students advice tailored to meet their individual requirements. He works with international students to ensure they settle into college life and life in the UK and he provides a strong link between the college and the students' families and agents.
Francisco believes that CLC's pioneering and student focussed approach fully meets the needs of today's internet savvy generation.
Andrew Hawkins - Business Development Director
Andrew joined the team at the beginning of 2018 to lead on the development of the commercial aspects of Cambridge Leadership College.
After 17 years in the City of London he founded a video production company before moving into management consultancy working with clients such as Chase Manhattan, Deloitte and Mazda Cars and later founding his own consultancy to work specifically with SMEs.
Andrew brings wide ranging strategic, planning and fund raising experience to further develop the ground breaking educational opportunities offered by the Cambridge Leadership College.
Bogusia Plaza - Head of Art & Design
Bogusia has taught in Poland and the UK during a twenty year teaching career with a recent focus on digital photography, where her students have enjoyed exceptional results. She speaks Polish, English and Russian and can get by in all the related Slavic languages.
She is expert in taking students on overseas visits having spent 10 years organising EU Comenius Projects in West Sussex, UK and, having created a partnership with a school in Chennai, India, she took both students and fellow staff to India on two occasions.
Her passion is helping students to excel in creative subjects. She has her own hallmark as a silversmith and also has experience in glasswork and screen printing.

With our forward-thinking and very experienced team, a wide range of evidence supporting this approach and the support of educational visionaries from all over the world, we are confident of our success.
We have recruited several specialist teachers who will work part-time with our students covering a range of artistic and creative disciplines such as drama, photography, silversmithing and business law. We will add their details shortly.
Our staff and students speak a wide range of languages including Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Polish and Russian. There is no better method of improving your English than total immersion in our intense programs, working with fellow students and staff.
We have recruited a wide range of leading figures from education and the world of business to deliver a captivating series of masterclasses throughout the year.
Masterclasses will be run in the late afternoon and early evening and will be recorded for students to refer back to in the future.
