Who is this course for?

The course is suitable for international students who have completed secondary education in their home countries and want the quickest route to convert their existing skills and qualifications into those that will be accepted by UK universities, and to prepare for degree studies in the UK.

What are the entry requirements?

Students require an English proficiency of at least IELTS 4.5 (or equivalent) to be permitted to join the programme, and a good standard of education at secondary level.

How is the course structured?

The programme is structured into Academic Preparation units and Specialist Business units.

Academic Preparation units provide the essential skills that underpin success, including intensive general and academic English in order to make very rapid progress to the academic levels needed for undergraduate study. These units are:

■ Developing English Language Skills. Students holding IELTS 5.5 do not have to take this unit as they are awarded credit for their IELTS qualification
■ Advanced English Language Skills
■ English for Academic Purposes
■ Foundation Mathematics
■ Cultural Studies
■ Study and Communication Skills

Specialist Business units are:

■ Introduction to Business
■ Introduction to Accounting & Finance
